For more than four years, Pharmaprix has been a major partner with the Quebec Division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (MSSC). Thanks to the Tree of Life Campaign, Pharmaprix contributed more than $435,000 to support our MS Society mission:
To be a leader in finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life.
These funds allowed the organization to invest an unsurpassed amount in research. Not only is this disease incurable, but the cause is still unknown. Promising research projects are currently focusing on remyelinisation, on the key role played by the immune system, on genetics, bone marrow transplant and paediatric MS.
In addition, 50% of the funds were used to provide services. People living with multiple sclerosis can benefit from various services offered in 25 local MSSC divisions throughout the province: Support groups, help lines, adapted physical activity, literature, equipment loan, etc.
Much remains to be done to stop multiple sclerosis and Pharmaprix’s support has brought the MS Society of Canada one step forward.
